CHILDISH

Cathy Bray finds herself older but no wiser, still laughing at her own jokes and more CHILDISH with the passing years. She’s a charcutière for resentments (butchered and smoked). Rarely cured. Many past their use-by dates.

2017 Sydney Fringe at the Factory Theatre, Marrickville

RhiZomic Reading

‘Bag lady’, ‘Ode to Minge plate’ and other inappropriate poems and preambles by Cathy Bray

2016 RhiZomic Poetry reading at Mr Falcons’, Glebe

LATITUDE PLATITUDE

The Duchess of Over-Disclosure takes plenty of latitude, buggers the compass on good taste, and confirms the ridiculous as highly regional.
Free-ranging preambles, gratuitous comedy and some serious poetry.

2014 Sydney Fringe at The Record Crate, Glebe

  • 2014 Sydney Fringe POETRY LITERATURE AND SPOKEN WORD Award

NO FIXED ADDRESS

An evening of comedy and poetry

2013 Sydney Fringe at The Hive Bar, Erskineville

INAPPROPRIATE

a reference in part to her failure to ever find the correct category for her act in the guide to the Sydney Fringe. She was dressed like a St.Trinian’s school girl and it was downhill from there really.

2012 Sydney Fringe at Madame Fling Flongs, Newtown

POET TREE

following the mystifying forced merger of the Poets Union with the Australian Poetry Centre in Melbourne and its deconstruction into a Limited (sic) company, Bray did a piece on artistic ambivalence (including Suss Stainable Industry Stutter and Lullaby for the Poets Union) called ‘POET TREE’

2011 Sydney Fringe at the Sound Lounge, Seymour Centre

MAD WOMAN’S BREAKFAST: EAT MY BUSH

My Australian ambivalence towards America…

“From time to time I think up a project like this to add a bit of anxiety and excitement to my days. What usually happens is that my husband dies of embarrassment, my children disown me ......”

2010 Sydney Fringe at Madame Fling Flongs, Newtown
